Tasting Notes
The 2016 Blanc de Blancs is an intriguing, complex and round wine with beautiful mid-palate texture. Flavors of citrus, lemon curd, a burst of clean minerality, fresh orange blossom and developing autolytic character is carried by a bead of tiny and tantalizing bubbles. This wine is fresh and bright making it lovely now. Choose to cellar it for a decade or more to let the beautiful autolytic tertiary characteristics sing.

La Belle Promenade Vineyard | Chehalem Mountains AVA | 700 - 800’ Elevation | Northeastern & Southwestern Exposure | Volcanic Soils, Jory & Nekia | Planted to Mixed Pinot Noir Clones, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Aligoté, Grüner Veltliner & Gamay | Dry Farmed Using Organic Principles La Belle Promenade Vineyard is comprised of 33 acres of vines planted in 2014. The vineyard is home to volcanic soils ranging in diversity from a thick layer of fractured basalt in our shallow rooted southwestern blocks and deeper volcanic Saum soils in the southeastern corner of the vineyard. The crops we harvest from La Belle Promenade produce characteristic floral notes that cling to acidity and tell the story of the orchard fruits that once grew here.

Winemaker Notes
We farmed select blocks of 100% Chardonnay from La Belle Promenade Vineyard specifically for this inaugural sparkling program. The warm 2016 vintage produced beautifully concentrated fruit with retained acidity. The wine was organically and natively fermented after being whole cluster pressed then aged for almost 4.5 years in bottle on its own lees. In August of 2021 the wine was disgorged and then finished with a low dosage of 4g/L making it Extra Brut.
