Tasting Notes
Bright, fresh and vibrant, the 2019 La Belle Promenade Pinot Noir showcases aromas of blackberry, savory tarragon, sarsaparilla, and a minerality reminiscent of crushed gravel. Silky fine grained tannins and lively acidity frame ripe flavors of blackberry and black cherry. A lingering finish is carried by a medley of everything we adore about this classic La Belle Promenade Pinot Noir; bright, high tones of ripe fruit, food friendly acidity and gorgeous texture.
Vineyard Notes
La Belle Promenade Vineyard, our treasured estate site in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, spans 40 acres of organically dry-farmed vines planted in 2014. Situated between 700 and 850 feet in elevation, its northeastern and southwestern exposures bring balance and unique character to our wines. The vineyard’s volcanic soils vary between a fractured basalt layer in the southwest and deep Saum soils in the southeast, adding complexity to each harvest. Planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Grüner Veltliner, Gamay Noir, and Aligoté, La Belle Promenade reflects the rich diversity of its terroir, yielding wines with vibrant floral notes, bright acidity, and a hint of the orchard fruits that once flourished here.
