The Bon Vivant Chardonnay, as its name implies, is in a class by itself. Each year, as we taste through our cellar, certain barrels rise to the top. It could be their sense of decadent power, or their graceful precision and minerality that draw us to those barrels. Consequently, each time we revisit these special barrels, the blurry image of the final composition begins to take form. Ultimately, in the end, it is our yearly masterstroke: our most complex and layered wine. With a full spectrum of ripe fruits, layers of floral aromas are gilded with the brilliant spice from new oak. The Bon Vivant Chardonnay is a true masterpiece from our La Belle Promenade Vineyard.

Tasting Notes
Boasting aromas of yellow orchard fruits, ripe Meyer lemon and citrus blossom lift from the glass. On the palate the theme stays true with added lemon curd and fresh crushed gravel further enhancing this wine’s
intrigue. No new oak allows the La Belle Promenade Vineyard site to truly show off. Impressive tension pulls your attention to the wine’s generous texture leading into length and elegance on the finish.
Vineyard Notes
La Belle Promenade Vineyard, our treasured estate site in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, spans 40 acres of organically dry-farmed vines planted in 2014. Situated between 700 and 850 feet in elevation, its northeastern and southwestern exposures bring balance and unique character to our wines. The vineyard’s volcanic soils vary between a fractured basalt layer in the southwest and deep Saum soils in the southeast, adding complexity to each harvest. Planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Grüner Veltliner, Gamay Noir, and Aligoté, La Belle Promenade reflects the rich diversity of its terroir, yielding wines with vibrant floral notes, bright acidity, and a hint of the orchard fruits that once flourished here.
