Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This captivating wine unveils a bouquet of enticing aromas, weaving together notes of cranberry, blood orange, and strawberry, with sweet marzipan. A subtle touch of sarsaparilla root adds a fascinating earthy spice, complemented by a touch of birch wood. On the palate, this wine reveals its supple texture, with its harmonious interplay of tannin, acidity, oak influence and fresh fruit. Fine-grained tannins initially leave a delicate chalkiness, swiftly followed by a rush of refreshing acidity bursting with the flavors of fresh fruits. The flavor profile boasts an alluring blend of orange, cranberry, and wild Oregon bramble. The finish is delightfully long, reassuring us that this is one of the prettiest vintages of Flânerie Vineyard Pinot Noir crafted to date.
Ratings
94 Points, James Suckling | "Toasted spices, chocolate and mocha with ripe red and dark berries in the background. Medium- to full-bodied, firm and steady with compact but crunchy tannins and vivid acidity. Lengthy and energetic. Drink or hold." - James Suckling
Vineyard Notes
Flânerie Vineyard was established in 2003. The 10-acre site sits at 250’–350’ in elevation on the eastern slope of the Ribbon Ridge AVA. The east-to-west orientation of its rows maximizes sun exposure, promoting greater tannin structure in an already warmer microclimate. Despite this warmth, the site retains impressive acidity. Combined with its sedimentary soils, the terroir produces spicy and savory wines with structure, light red fruit character, and age-worthy potential. This site is dry farmed in house using organic farming practices.
