On September 2nd, 2021, we harvested our inaugural crop of Grüner Veltliner from our estate, La Belle Promenade Vineyard. This Austrian flagship was planted by virtue of our curiosity to cultivate and craft a unique expression of the varietal in our Willamette Valley.

Tasting Notes
Debuting in the Flâneur Wines portfolio for the first time is the 2021 La Belle Promenade Grüner Veltliner. A bouquet of honeycomb, Saturday morning fresh cut grass, lemon verbena, and ripe yellow pear leave us intrigued to taste. Flavors are abundant showcasing classic lemon, grapefruit, with limoncello, and golden hay. A touch of salinity plays with the plush and resinous texture. Refreshing acidity makes this wine the perfect spring and summer selection.
Vineyard Notes
100% La Belle Promenade Vineyard | Chehalem Mountains AVA | 700 - 800’ Elevation | Northeastern & Southwestern Exposure | Volcanic Soils, Jory & Nekia | Planted to Mixed Pinot Noir Clones | La Belle Promenade Vineyard is planted to 36 acres of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Grüner Veltliner and Aligoté. It sits on top of volcanic soils, with the western portion of the site consisting of a thick layer of fractured basalt. Due in part to its high elevation, this site allows for great diversity in concert with our other estate vineyard, Flanerie.
Production Notes
Bottled July 2022 | 100 Cases | pH 3.22 | TA 6.5 | Native Yeast Fermentation | 25% Neutral Oak and 75% Stainless Steel | Whole Cluster Pressed | 100% La Belle Promenade Vineyard
Other Notes
91 Points, Wine Enthusiast: "Flâneur's debut Grüner Veltliner features Bosc pear and juniper berry aromas that are fresh and lively, with additional notes of treacle and lemon basil. There's more than enough acidity to balance the wine's flavors of lemon curd, white grapefruit and candied ginger. I can't wait to try this wine with the next bratwurst I take off the grill." — Michael Alberty
