Tasting Notes
The 2022 Grüner Veltliner is truly reminiscent of the Austrian wines that inspired us to cultivate this atop our La Belle Promenade Vineyard. This wine is clear and brilliant, pale straw in color with faint green reflections. Aromas showcase white peach, green apple, citrus blossom, and subtle hints of white pepper. The palate is refreshingly crisp with flavors of ripe pear, grapefruit, honeydew melon, and a touch of petrichor. With its silky texture, lively acidity, and a long, zesty finish accented by citrus zest and green herbs, this versatile white wine complements a wide range of cuisines, from seafood to aged cheeses and vegetable-driven sides.

91 Points, International Wine Report | "This 2022 Gruner Veltliner showcases a light lemony core with green flecks and a silver rim. On the nose, crisp green apples and a dusting of white pepper blend beautifully with wet earth and subtle saline notes. Light to medium-bodied, the wine boasts vibrant, high acidity that is balanced by a touch of honeyed green pear on the finish. This is a refreshing and wonderful expression of Gruner Veltliner from the Willamette Valley. About 100 cases made. 2024-2028" - Jeremy Young
Vineyard Notes
This wine was crafted 100% from our La Belle Promenade Vineyard (LBP). This 40 acre site atop the west facing slopes of the Chehalem Mountains AVA is planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Grüner Veltliner, Gamay Noir and Aligoté. The site is rooted in volcanic soils consisting of a thick layer of fractured basalt. Due in part to its high elevation of 850 feet at the top of the vineyard, this site allows for great diversity in concert with our other estate vineyard, Flânerie.
